What emerged in those classes was a radical form of engagement with design history and education that provided welcomed all with an accessible payment structure and anti-capitalist compensation for our collective of educators. Recorded lectures, readings, and live discussions all shed light on moments of oppression and visibility. The series continues to revisit and rewrite the course of design history in a way that centers previously marginalized designers, cultural figures—and particularly BIPOC and QTPOC people.

Our contributors are leaders in design history, and most also bring lived experiences as BIPOC designers and scholars.
