Brian is a member of the Monacan Indian Nation.
Brian Johnson is a designer, curator, educator, and partner of Polymode. Through his work he focuses on amplifying marginalized and forgotten voices through poetic research, learning experiences, and impactful design. As a citizen of the Monacan Indian Nation, his practice centers around design that uplifts underrepresented voices, with a focus on BIPOC and QTBIPOC communities. He often explores the intersection of race, culture, and graphic design history in his work, and is also an active lecturer and advocate for inclusive design education.
