Gloria Jane Bell

Dr. Bell has Métis and settler ancestry.

Gloria Jane Bell is an art historian specializing in Indigenous visual culture of the Americas. Her research explores exhibition histories, global Indigenous exchanges, and decolonial methodologies. Her current project, Eternal Sovereigns, studies Indigenous artworks in early twentieth-century Italy. SSHRC, FRQSC, and fellowships with the Newberry Library and the Terra Foundation support Bell’s work. She has experience in curatorial roles and regularly contributes to Indigenous art publications.
