Naïma Ben Ayed is a Provence born (France), Paris graduate (Estienne school, 2009), London based, type and graphic designer. She set up her independent practice in 2019 after working for several years at Dalton Maag studio. She creates Arabic and Latin retail and custom typefaces as well as lettering and visual identities. Her approach to design is telling stories with letters. She also leads workshops questioning the relation(s) between the Arabic and Latin scripts and languages. Through platforms such as Futuress and School of Commons she engages in the question of opening up type design pedagogy to broader audiences and creating tools to do so.
