Sadeem Yacoub is a graphic designer and architect currently studying for her Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) at California Institute at the Arts (CalArts), having already attained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Architectural Design from Cardiff University, UK. She comes from a cosmopolitan background being both Sudanese and Russian. Being politically engaged, her practice centers on her home Sudan, where most of her research is focused on shared cultural experiences, the empowerment of women, social injustices as well as a series of reactions to the current socio-political atmosphere. Her determination and passion to create, express and most importantly, represent has turned into her life mission.
