Sheharazad Fleming

Sheharazad Fleming is an Iranian-American creative director based in Los Angeles.

Throughout her career, she has built and led creative teams in the civic, academic and nonprofit sectors with a focus on design and branding, strategic communications and visual storytelling.

She has served as the Director of Digital Design and Marketing for the City of Los Angeles, Office of the Mayor, as well as the Creative Director for the University of Southern California and for Otis College of Art and Design.

She is currently President of the community design studio WE MUST BE BOLD and Chief Creative Officer of The Great Discontent, a storytelling platform amplifying the work of emerging artists and under-represented creative communities. As an advocate for art and design, Sheharazad serves as a Director for the National Board of AIGA, the professional organization for design, and as the Board Chair for the Corita Art Center. As an arts educator, she has drawn on her professional experience to teach undergraduate courses in Design Thinking and Brand Strategy and her work has been recognized by the Society of Publication Designers, University College Designers Association, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Communication Arts and GDUSA.
