The Reverberations booklist extends the exhibition beyond the gallery, tracing the ideas, movements, and makers that echo across time, geography, and discipline. These texts—spanning design, art, politics, cultural theory, and lived experience—offer context for the work on view while opening pathways for deeper reflection and study.

Rather than a definitive canon, this collection is an invitation: to follow threads of influence, to sit with contradiction, and to recognize how BIPOC designers have shaped visual culture through exchange, resistance, and continuity. Some books foreground historical recovery, others speculative futures; together, they map a network of voices in conversation with one another.

We encourage readers to move through this list non-linearly—letting one text lead to another, allowing meanings to shift and reverberate over time.
